Our view
The Player+ sits one step below the Pro in the Blue Tees speaker range and at £150 vs £199 the trade-offs are minor for most golfers. The key upgrade from Pro is Auracast unlimited pairing and IP67 vs IPX7 — neither matters for solo golfers. The power bank USB ports are a genuinely useful practical feature that the Pro does not have. For most cart golfers the Player+ at £150 is the stronger value proposition than the Pro at £199.
Pros
- Built-in power bank is a genuine practical differentiator — no other GPS speaker charges your phone
- True Distance slope and wind at £150 is strong value
- Audible yardage callouts mean you never need to look at the screen for basic distances
- IPX7 waterproof — suitable for British conditions
- Heavy-duty magnetic mount works on cart or bag
- 1-year Advanced Analytics included
Cons
- IPX7 vs IP67 on the Pro — slightly less robust waterproofing
- Party Mode limited to two speakers vs unlimited Auracast on Pro
- AI features require data history and app subscription after year one
- Scout AI Caddie still in beta
- GPS speaker form factor — requires mounting point
